Most restaurants in the Seychelles accept orders only until ten in the evening – after this time they either close or continue to work until all visitors finish dinner. Until late only bars work here.
Cuisine and Restaurants Seychelles
The basis of local Creole cuisine is seafood, rice, curry and coconut. The most popular Seychelles dish is fish and rice (pwason ek diri). It is also worth trying here tec-tech sea-shell soup, stewed breadfruit, “Saint-Jacques” stewed bananas, coconut-like coconut pudding and bananas. The highlight of the Seychelles cuisine is bat stew.
The classic local drinks are Saber beer, tint citronel lemon mint, fermented kalu coconut juice, and a reasonably strong pot drink made from fermented sugarcane juice.
